Kim Min-Goo at aged 23 is considered one of Korea’s rising stars and was named best shooting guard in last year’s FIBA Asia tournament, helping the team with his uncanny ability to score and his streaky shooting. He was selected second overall in the 2013 KBL draft.

His recovery and status for the upcoming FIBA World Cup and Incheon Asian Games are currently uncertain until further tests will disclose the full extent of damage. Kim has been with the national team since his varsity career with Kyung-Hee, being named in the 2012 preliminary roster but later cut due to an injury. Kim would make the roster in 2013 thrice, winning gold with the East Asia Basketball Championship, finishing third in the FIBA Asia held in Manila and helped Korea finish silver in the East Asian Games behind Taiwan.
