Yoon Ho-Young out for the East Asian Games

Yoon Ho-Young

The veteran captain of the Bronze winning team for the 27th FIBA Asian Men’s Championship held in Manila last August will miss the East Asian games due to cartilage damage on his ankles.  Yoon was also a member of the Gold medal winning team for the East Asian Basketball Championship.

Earlier last week, the team also lost another veteran leader, Heo Il-Young due to a knee injury. Moon Seung-Gon, who was with the third placed team that played in Manila for the 27th FIBA Asia Men’s championship and had booked a trip to the world cup next year, was named as a replacement.

This leaves eleven (11) abled bodies for South Korea as the Korean Basketball Association will name a late replacement for the injured Yoon.

Sources said that it will be a college player so expect the team to get younger with the slightly older players like Park Chan-Hee and Lee Jung-Hyun (Anyang KGC) to lead the team.
